This web site is designed to give you a warts and all view of life in the RN today from the perspective of a Junior Officer who joined after university. It will also give you some useful tips about passing the Admiralty Interview Board and the training you will do.

It is from my own perspective as a recent leaver after 6 years service. I have discovered there is plenty of info on the web from recruiters but none from a blog perspective of one who was at the coal face but has no agenda other than passing information.

I have tried to be objective in my views and I hope it will assist you in making an informed decision about whether to join or not and also help you prepare. I have been truthful about my own experiences in the Service and have tried to convey of a sense of what it is really like, what the RN will expect of you and what you must be prepared for. There is a lot of info here but I believe if you take the time to read it, you will get some good ideas.

Why not check out the feedback page to see some neutral views.
